If you are a traveler who is looking to do something a little different during your travels, then glamping could very well be for you. If you haven’t heard of glamping, it is essentially camping, but without all of the rough and ready stuff. When you go glamping you can expect to find comfy beds, heated rooms, running water and electricity, a night under the stars with a little difference.
I have glamped in many countries around the world and one of my favorite destinations so far has been India. I love India as a country anyway, the food, the sights, the people and the culture have blown me away since my first visit there. When you glamping in India, you not only get to enjoy some wonderful destinations, but also do so in a chic and stylish manner. Let’s take a look at some of the best glamping spots in India.
Here on the border of Rajasthan you will find a huge stretch of desert where you can indulge in some glamping, and some tranquility. There are a range of luxury and semi-luxury tents which you can rent by the night and the scenery is completely surreal. During your time here you can take camel rides, watch the sun as it retires behind the dunes, as well as have an introduction to desert culture. The weather gets very cold on the night time so make sure that you have enough clothes to keep you warm through the night.
Fancy staying a night in a tiger abode? Of course you do, and that is exactly what you will be able to do here in Ranthambore. This is a thick, forested area which has incredible canopies, loud wildlife and of course, tigers not too far away. During your time here you can head off on safari in search of the tigers and other wildlife that call this place home. The cost of glamping here ranges between 20,000 – 100,000 rupees per night, depending on just how much luxury you are looking for.
This is an absolutely sensational glamping destination which will see you bedding down for the night at the foot of a huge, untouched mountain range. To find luxury in this harsh and tough environment is quite something and aside from the stunning landscapes in this region, the tent choices are very homely and luxurious indeed. This is the perfect glamping destination for anyone who loves adventure and is looking for an altogether different type of vacation. From the camp, you can indulge in many hiking trails throughout Ladakh’s terrain and relax on an evening in a luxury tent. The cost of these tents ranges from 4,000 to 10,000 rupees per night, an incredibly reasonable price given the level of luxury both in and outside the tent. Aside from hiking you can also take camel safaris and discover the natural area.
